| The Full-Time program: is offered Monday through Friday from 8am to 2pm. This program offers students the opportunity to finish Practical Nursing Program in 12 months.
The curriculum consist of classroom didatic, Laboratory Practicum and Clinical Rotation. |

| The Evening/ Weekend program: this program provides an option for LPN candidates who need to continue full-time employment while working toward their educational goal. The program provides the same curriculum that is used in the full-time program. The coursework is offered over five semesters and may include evening, and/ or weekend classes and clinical experience |

- Applicants must be at least 17 years of age
|
- High school graduate, GED or equivalent required. Notarized transcripts required.

- Foreign students need to have transcripts evaluated by the World Educational Service (WES) in New Jersey and provide a notarized certificate to LST.
|
- Competitive score on the School Assessment Test. The standardized test given is the National League for Nurses Pre-Admission Examination for Practical Nurses (NLN-PAX). This test consists of word knowledge, reading comprehension, mathematics, and science. NLN-PAX allows a fair comparison of students from different schools and backgrounds with different grading policies.

- Students must be in sound physical, emotional, and social condition.

- Applicants must be of good moral character without convictions of any misdemeanor or felony offences.

Admission Procedures: |
Step 1: |
| Persons seeking admission need to tender the following: |
| |
- Completed application form submitted to LST with a $60 cash or money order non- refundable application fee
- A 500 word typed essay stating your interest and reason for becoming an LPN
- Arrange to take the School Assessment Test with the Admission Officers. The test is adminstered Monday through Friday. The test measures skill in 3 basic areas; English reading, mathematics and basic science to determine readiness for nursing school coursework. It is the responsibility of every applicant to call the admission office to schedule for the test.
- We do not have a minimum score required for admission. We accept students with a range of scores and evaluate standardized test scores in balance with other parts of the application.

| When test scores return, all prospective students will be scheduled for an interview with the Program Director who will consider all the applicants’ credentials and make the final decision concerning admission. Students will be notified in writing regarding their application status. |

Step 2: |
| Applicants must be accepted by the faculty before proceeding to the next stage which requires:* |

- Submission of transcripts or certificates from high school or GED graduates
- Foreign students need to provide a notarized certificate from WES
- Official college or university transcripts (if applicable)
- Two letters of professional reference from job or former school and one reference from a friend or relative. Reference letters must be in sealed envelopes.
- Criminal background check
- Child and Adult Abuse Registry check
- Immunization record
- Lab testing:
- Two step Mantoux skin test ( Chest x-ray where applicable)
- Urine drug screen
- Physical Examination from Primary Care Provider with written documentation of no physical limitations

| Letter of admission will be sent to all qualified applicants. Successful applicants will be scheduled to attend orientation. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend one of our orientation sessions. Through these sessions, the school offers an overview of the facilities, programs, services, and student organizations that are available to all students. This is a great opportunity for you to become acquainted with our campus and be prepared for the start of classes. Orientation is hosted by the department of admission, Tel: 302-322-0700. Details on dates, times and places will be sent to you in the mail once you have completed the registration process. |
